The Board of Postgraduate School

The current Postgraduate School Board consists of 28 members: all Deans and Directors of Academic units and a representative of each Faculty. Members are Dean of the Postgraduate School as the Chairman, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate School, The Deans of Arts, Social Sciences, Law, Science, Education, Engineering, Management Sciences, School of Communication, Transport, Student Affairs, Provost College of Medicine, Deans of Clinical and Medicine; The University Librarian, Directors of CESE and LASU External System, four Senate Representatives and a representative each of those bodies. None of the members should be less than Senior Lecturer.
The Deputy Registrar and Secretary of Postgraduate School is also the secretary to the Board. |
| Functions of the Postgraduate School Board |
| This includes organising admission procedures (while departments short list those who qualify for admission). It screens and recommends the lists to Senate for ratification. It provides information to both staff and students and reviews their performance periodically. It brings up fresh ideas to move the Postgraduate School forward. The Postgraduate School Board sits over results of Postgraduate School programmes in the Internal and External Systems. Each Department makes all academic for the Postgraduate School and Postgraduate School serves as 'clearing house' for the products of all the Departments. Postgraduate School is responsible to the Senate for its activities. |
